Liz joined the TEAL office in August 2016 as a pre-education advisor. She now also works as a College Advising Systems Specialist to develop and maintain a detailed working knowledge of UNC Charlotte’s core advising systems and to train, assist, and support other professional and faculty advisors in the use of these advising systems.
Prior to coming to UNC Charlotte Liz taught first grade for ten years in both Stanly County and Charlotte Mecklenburg School systems. After teaching she worked as a coordinator and advisor at Stanly Community College. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UNC Charlotte and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Pfeiffer University.
Liz advises pre-education students on general course offerings and the steps to complete prior to admission into Teacher Education programs. She can also provide information on additional campus resources. She spends time collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data on the effectiveness of strategic advising campaigns that will allow the university to leverage the potential of advising systems to achieve its student success goals.
Liz enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends, and nephews. She loves dogs and being outdoors. She hopes to travel abroad and take professional cooking classes in the near future.
