Kevin began working for UNC Charlotte as a pre-education advisor and Education Learning Community co-coordinator in September 2016. Before his time at UNC Charlotte, Kevin taught various grade levels from fifth through ninth grades, and coached a variety of sports, mostly at the high school level. After his teaching career, he attained his master’s degree in academic advising, working as an advisor and co-designing an advisor training program for Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kansas. Both Kevin’s Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees are from Kansas State University, and he still has a soft spot for K-State sports teams.
Kevin advises pre-education students, helping them map out their general education and prerequisite classes prior to admission into the upper-division of the Teacher Education program here at UNC Charlotte. He also provides information for students on other campus resources, and co-teaches EDUC 1000, an education seminar for the Education Learning Community students.
Kevin loves visiting Wilkes County, where his immediate family lives. His passions include watching and playing sports, writing, reading, and learning new things. In that vein, he plans to begin additional graduate coursework soon.
