Brad Smith joined the TEAL office as an Academic Advisor in 2013. Before coming to UNC Charlotte, he taught history, civics, and psychology in Cabarrus County public high schools. In his current role as Director, Dr. Smith coordinates pre-education advising and licensure efforts for the Cato College of Education. He can provide information for students on the teaching profession, education programs at UNC Charlotte, routes to educator licensure, financial assistance for teacher candidates, campus resources, and college and university policy. Dr. Smith also serves as the college’s Licensure Officer and is the primary contact for questions regarding professional educator licensure at UNC Charlotte.
